The main focus of Dr. Ní Chonghaile’s research is based on trying to understand why certain cancers are sensitive to chemotherapy, while others are resistant and how best to treat resistant cancers using novel drug discovery approaches. The main research interests are mitochondrial apoptosis, epigenetic regulation of apoptosis and haematological malignancies, with a particular interest in T-cell leukemia and Multiple Myeloma.
